Fort Saward is a giant fortress sitting near the volcanoes up north. It has decent military gear, though Hell Tree is close and has much better loot. Beware of the four zombie spawners in the throne room. Fort Saward is a good spot to get good gear up north and it's close to a lot of dungeons like Mount Therum and Saward Crypt, with the entrance of the latter found inside the fort.

Travel Advisory/Warnings

• The crafting table is located in the storage on the lower level of the fort.
• The brewing stands are located inside the board room, which needs a button to enter and contains two room_high chests.
• There are a total of 4 zombie spawners in the throne room behind the throne. Loot the mil_mythic, and get away from the throne quickly.
• Although the chance of Zombie Pigmen spawning here is low, be careful, as they can suddenly appear in the tight halls.
  • Scorchers can also be problematic when confronted in the tight spaces below the castle. The easiest way to deal with them is to run to the water to the south, to avoid burning.
• Stock up on lots of health potions before coming here. The nearest place with health potions is Hell Tree, which is not viable to run to in a pinch.
  • Frostbain is another option, but it is a considerable distance away.
• The amount of small rooms here makes it easy to fend off zombies.
• There is a water source here on the south side of the fort.
  • The pools of water in the castle cannot be used to refill water bottles.
• Standing on the roof is a very good spot for farming the 4 mil_rares, but it's more worth it to keep going around the fort so the epics and mythic spawns.
• Use the ladders in the throne room to camp out zombie spawns.
• Some experienced bandits come here to gear at Saward Crypt. If able to confront them before they do the dungeon, they will likely be insufficiently geared to fight back.
