Eclipsed Watchtowers

The Eclipsed Watchtowers are structures related to the Eclipsed, a cult that first appeared during the Pre-Origins Update. They appear in such places as Eclipsed Ruins, Knoxmoor and Asindia Ruins. Two of their watchtowers can be found on the map, one in the northern swamp region and one in the jungle northwest of Agni Ignis.

Eclipsed Jungle Watchtower

This watchtower is located deep into the Jungle, close to Zerbia, and, even closer Jungle Sanctuary. Some loot is contained at the bottom. Some signs and another military chest can be found if one decides to climb to the top of the tower, which is easy but tricky.

Travel Advisory/Warnings

• The chests here are not worth getting. You would rather loot Jungle Sanctuary which is nearby, yields better loot and it's easier to loot.

Trivia

• There is Lore located underneath these ruins. One must use a button on a polished andesite block to get to the Lore Books.
  • One of the signs inside the fort indicates that: "Not everything is at it seems. As above so below"
• Below, there is a sign reading: "Good thing no one else seems to have found this place."

Eclipsed Swamp Watchtower

In between Swamp Pit and Boggy Den, this watchtower lies next to a river and close to the world border. The loot here is not worth going to, but the Lore might be. Both chests are located outside, the food chest on the small dock-like structure and the tool chest inside the northern structure, next to the crafting table here.

Trivia

• There's a sign at the fort with a ladder reading "Those that come after will see what we have given them."
• Like the above, there's Lore located down below.
  • There are 2 signs: One reads "Eclipsed Swamp Watchtower. *Report back to HQ*" and the other "A tower and a well sit on the cusp of a grey ocean." This could be referring to Knoxmoor, which also contains Lore about Eclipsed.

Odd Discovery - Eclipsed (Swamp Watchtower)

Shortly after the discovery of Dentril's location, odd pillars with an almost outworldly gleam appeared. Something seems to be keeping them here. Upon investigation of these pillars, a harmonic whisper can be heard, but it seems to be leading us to... *The page seems to have decayed and the ink faded. You can't make anything else out.*

Odd Discovery 2 - Eclipsed (Jungle Watchtower)

This location seems to be much older than we anticipated. We're not sure how stable this structure is. This language seems to be something far more archaic than anything recorded in the great library. Too many anomalies have surfaced since Dentril was uncovered. I have a hard time believing any of this happened by chance. Based on our research, the pillars draw their power from a location called the Origin. Throughout our testing, any item returns only a whisper. Is this from the origin? How can we access it... We're running out of time.

This place... It is different. Hopefully our other outposts have faired better. I haven't checked the other four...

Trivia

• The twenty Waygates scattered throughout the map were used to find these two Eclipsed locations. One would throw an item below them to get a Whisper and some coordinates, which lead to the Eclipsed Watchtowers. Their purpose has now been changed with the introduction of the Gate Stone at Path of Light and their teleportation ability.
