Afaya

Afaya is a walled, abandoned town in the savanna in the east, south of Tristitia. It has 4 entrances, one on each side. Afaya is a good place to stock up on food and basic civilian gear, but it lacks potions and has passable military gear.

Travel Advisory/Warnings
- The water refill is located at the fountain in the middle of town at (2735, 78, -576).
- The crafting table is located within the hidden room at (2720, 69, -596).
- This location is difficult to defend from attackers as they can enter from any of the four sides.
- The small areas in the village can be dangerous, as zombies can hop out of alleyways or pop around corners while players are not expecting it.
- The rooftops of the structures inside can be good places to stay at, as zombies cannot usually get up there. Players can parkour on top of them by climbing up one of the watchtowers onto the walls.
- Due to the lack of health potions and the high spawn rate, it is not possible to stay here indefinitely.
- To enter the hidden room inside the condemned house, players must activate a lever hidden in the northern wall from the outside. Look into the hole at (2714, 74, -602) and right click to open the room, then go back into the condemned house and enter the room with the skull.
Trivia
- There used to be a Void Echo here.
- Inside the secret room, there are signs reading "She begged me to end her suffering..." and "I can still hear the screams..." next to a skeleton skull.
- The head of the town's builder, GreyWolf64, can be found hidden in the condemned house's secret room and in the Lt. Madison's Residence. There is also a barrel named "Grey's Tears" inside the hidden room.
- This is one of the locations that had a major building update during Majicou's Secret Update.
- Like Spooky Yawpton, Spooky Afaya was added in October 2015 for Halloween. The loot did not change during this time other than the addition of a few Halloween Chests found around the meteor in the middle of the town. The town was retextured to fit the Halloween theme and was restored once November rolled around.
- The name of this town might derive from the name of the Greek Goddess of Light, Aphaea.
- The ship of Captain Rat-rum passed west of Afaya 44 days after the start of the zombie outbreak.
Lore
Lore Block
- The lore block is located on the top floor of Lord Majicou's Estate at (2711, 78, -552).
On this grassy plain, near the boundary of that dark and unnerving forest, lay the hamlet of Afaya. It could be its proximity to the forest, or possibly the dullness of the plains, but Afaya was the only attempt at colonizing this area. Nevertheless, the citizens of Afaya did their best to create a happy haven and welcomed all travellers into their walls, no matter where their journey would take them. |
Lore Book
- The lore block is located in storage room on the top floor of the Afaya Community House at (2751, 78, -565).
City Log - Alexander
Day 44ː Thank goodnessǃ The zombies seem to have left us alone after hearing a cannon to the west after we saw a passing ship. Note to selfː It seems that zombies are able to walk on the bottom of the ocean floor. |
