The Giant Tree

Zerbia is a large tree located in the ocean between the northern jungle and the gravel near tenebris. It is divided into multiple sections; falling is quite easy and can be fatal. To reach the upper part of the location or town you must go to the marketplace right above the port and find some pistons elevators that'll lead you to the top. There are a lot of blocks and crates here, creating a very dense atmosphere that slightly fades away the further up you go.

Travel Advisory/Warnings

  • You'll always take fall damage from the first piston elevator.
  • There's a piston crate on the upper part of the port, to the east, next to a crane. Click the stone buttons on the box to launch yourself onto the roof of the house next to you. Here look for some ladders to get on the spiral stairway. Using this way you do not take fall damage.
  • Players who have purchased a grapple can navigate the high branches with relative ease.
  • The piston crates around the town also function as piston elevators. Use them to escape sticky situations.
  • The food chest can be reached by climbing on top of the crane above it and dropping onto the cobblestone walls on the crane line. Drop down these one at a time if you can. Once on the crane, you must make a jump down to the water to survive.
  • Water cannot be found atop as an infinite resource.
  • A mil_epic chest is located at the lighthouse. The ladder leading up there is broken. You can choose between grappling from the bottom of the ladder, quickest option, or parkour through the Eastern tree branch's leaves. Grappling will make you take fall damage.
  • Another way which doesn't make you take fall damage is going to the house with the purple stand, in the upper section, jumping on the western leaves and onto the leaves in front of you. All it takes is a 3 block jump but it can be fatal if you somehow fail it.
  • The mil_epic can be farmed by going to the opposite side of the lighthouse platform and climbing the branch, this will put enough space between the player and the chest for it to respawn.
  • The brewing stands can be found on almost all sections of the location including the prison cells, excluding the upper part and the lighthouse.
  • Crafting tables can only be found on the lower part of the port leading under the tree.
  • The melons are located on the Southeastern bridge.
  • For a quick escape, you can jump down into the water. Be careful as you might not arrive safely to the water and hit the ground too hard..
  • Zombie Pigmen can be especially deadly here to an unfamiliar player. Because of the confusing passageways and tight spaces, there is the very real possibility of a Pigman ambush.
  • The amount of ladders and different sections can be useful to avoid zombies and even players. Be wary, though, as you can easily fall and take a lot of damage from any of them.
  • Even if players do log here, you're most likely to never see them, as this location is very maze-like and each section is very divided from one another.
  • Most players that do log here will try to shoot you off the walkways
  • Despite the fact that Zerbia is very far North, it can be easily reached.
  • Due to the high density of blocks here, you can easily hide from other players by crouching.

Trivia

  • This town has received a rebuild, completely changing the layout of the location. Now it is harder to navigate, more dangerous. In addition to this there are more military chests than before and new civilian chests.
    • This rebuild was made by Tannatron (his Homestead can be found in the upper area). It was added on February 3rd, 2018.
      • The original build was a submission, but it is uncertain who exactly built it.
  • This town seems to worship Pluvia, the God of Water.
  • There was a dungeon here known as Zerbia Dungeon. It was added for Halloween 2018 and it required a key to enter. The entrance was at the lighthouse.
  • The dungeon was incredibly difficult and didn't require more than one person to beat it but more were recommended. Most players would die on the first room, however. It was removed after Halloween was over and no player has been reported to have beaten it.
  • When the dungeon wasn't yet released, there were signs reading "DON'T OPEN DEAD INSIDE" in front of the entrance at the lighthouse. They were a reference to The Walking Dead.
  • This is the second non-dungeon location to use piston elevators as a mechanic to advance to other parts of the location. The first being Kauri, which is also a giant tree.
  • The Zerbia Info-Board talks about the zombie infection. One of the signs reads "Kilroy Was Here". This is a reference to a graffiti that popped up all over Europe during World War II.
  • Zerbia was edited for Halloween 2018 and it's now Spooky Zerbia. Some cobwebs have been added around the upper area of the town alongisde a giant spider hanging on top of the port. The leaves have also been changed to autumn colored leaves.
