Travel Advisory/Warnings

  • It is possible, with enough time, to gather full iron here.
  • When parkouring near the top of the observatory, beware of possible bandits ready to shoot players off, as bandits are common here and they use to camp this place.
  • The final few jumps are outside the tower, so beware of falling then, for it is a guaranteed death unless managing to land on the vines hanging around the structure.
  • Make sure to be well stocked on potions and water, as neither resource can be found when inside the observatory.
  • There are five floors (including the top), so bring food and basic supplies.
  • Watch out for zombies falling from above for they will knock the player off the parkour.
  • This is a good location to gather supplies before going to Bazel or Oasis.
  • Do not attempt to go down through the vines when trying to exit the observatory. The ones around the observatory end on the stones slabs surrounding the structure, forcing the player to jump down and possibly taking heavy fall damage or dying.

Trivia

Lore

  • A Lore Book is located in the house, inside the bedroom at (1997, 70, -881):

Agni's Comet

Entry 17:

Agni’s comet has returned once again. This periodic comet will be very exciting to view this time around. It appears to be passing closer than normal to the earth. I am sure it will be quite a spectacle.
I’ve sent our new ward, Matius, to a dig site just west of Bazel. A dear friend of mine is currently excavating a series of strata that he claims to be “far more ancient than the surrounding layer.” I’m sure Matius would be more useful digging there, than observing here.

Entry 21:
Several members of the more…. ”pious” community seem to have taken the tragedy of Joh Nee A as a sign of “divine retribution”.
As if we could do any harm to our great puppeteers. Our local chaplain has said they haven’t been receptive of his prayers recently…
I have not had any new correspondence with Matius at the digsite. I can only assume that he has been engrossed in his new duties there.

Entry 24:
Refugees have begun flooding across the continental bridge recently. I’ve heard rumors of some outbreak of a new sickness. Symptoms include nausea, delirium, and ultimately insanity.
I feel I would be more useful in Romero where I might be able to observe this virus.
I’ll be departing soon but will return. I’ve noticed an odd dimming of our moon, but that’s for another time.
