Overview of Paluster

Paluster is a medium sized town built on a frozen lake, in the snow region. It is a crucial rest point for players attempting to make the trip North. The town itself is set around a large central tree, and has a chest in every structure around it. The buildings are all located on top of wooden boardwalk. Players frequently run here using the ice river to restock on food and other supplies, making camping this location for extended periods of time difficult. The Paluster Shrine is located here.

Travel Advisory/Warnings

  • Water is located in this town. It is hidden underneath a wooden staircase that just pokes out a single source block of water. It is located on the far East stairway used to climb up to the village.
    • It is also possible to obtain water by swimming to the top of the hot springs surrounding the village and filling up a bottle there.
  • Potions are obtained by climbing up the tree. A single chest is located amongst the leaves.
  • Zombies tend to spawn at ground level and follow underneath, so beware, as you walk between raised platforms.
  • Bandits are known to server hop here.
  • Bandits show up often. When travelling in a group, always have somebody to watch out for them.
  • Paluster is definitely worth the trip, as it has healing supplies, food and a crafting table.
  • Grappling onto the roofs is not a good idea, because most of the time you will be launched over the hut and end up taking fall damage.
  • If you manage to get on top of the tree, it's a great sniping post for killing zombies and other players. Just be careful not to fall.
  • If you're trying to avoid bandits and looking for a restock, you may want to go to the nearby Whitehaven or Clarce.
  • Players with high tier armor who have come down from the North or from dungeons such as Maze of the Tenth are often encountered here looking for food.

Lore

Lore Block

This strange tree stands tall even in these cold times.
In the past, Paluster's frozen ice plains were calm, warm waters.
The tree is a great representation of Pluvia.
Able to spread it's roots far and wide, it gathers all it can.
But, if allowed to continue, it will spread chaotically and drown itself.

Lore Book

Thoughts of Hope - Amber

  • The impenetrable bunker is a reference to the Admin Bunker, which is located right below these frozen rivers.
Our small town has defended itself by taking advantage of the extreme cold that freezes over our lakes and fishing for what we need.

The cold seems to be our largest enemy, we will have to move past this village in order to get somewhere with a more suitable environment.
If only we had an impenetrable bunker to live in.
