Overview of Meteor Crater, you may enter the dungeon through the lava

"Seeking to preemptively eradicate any notion of rebellion, the elemental gods sent a threat. One morning, a great fireball arced over the world, impacting the city of Joh Nee A, erasing it and the city's inhabitants from the world. Opposition would be met with total annihilation. Little did they know, their actions would sow the seeds of their undoing."

Meteor Crater was a dungeon settled where Joh Nee A used to be. It was quite difficult and should not have been be attempted unless you were fully prepared. The entrance was hidden by a lavafall, requiring a lot of damage to be taken before entering. Meteor Crater was one of the smallest dungeons to have a difficulty rating over 6. It has been removed as of May 9, 2020, when the Origins Update was released.

Text Walkthrough

Entrance (Difficulty: 4/10)

  • In order to enter the dungeon, you must go through the lava flow on the Western side of the meteor. The lava flow is six blocks wide, the entrance to the dungeon lies beneath the third block from the right.
    • Bring a full inventory of Potions of Healing II, Splash preferably.
  • Use the water on the inside to put out the flames and refill your bottles.

First Room (Difficulty: 6/10)

  • This room is a gauntlet of lava and 3 Zombie Pigman spawners.
  • Stay out of the lava as much as possible.
  • The zombie pigmen are almost guaranteed to explode on contact with the ground.
  • The zombie pigmen usually explode into 4 full sized Zombies. These zombies can easily knock you into the lava and end your run. For this reason it is recommended to be somewhat fast while still avoiding the lava.

Second Room (Difficulty: 3/10)

  • Fall down the glowstone, healing yourself each time.
    • There are little notches in the obsidian walls that can be used to make long falls shorter and less damaging.
  • Finally jump into the water and refill your water if you need to, then proceed to the next room.

Third Room (Diamond Room) (Difficulty: 6/10)

  • Jump over the pressure plate.
    • If you step on it, a zombie pigman will spawn.
    • Try to jump off the edge of the block that is closest to the pressure plate. This way, you have the best chance of not landing on it.
  • Continue through the diamond block parkour room. There is a dungeon_common chest in the northeast corner, near the end of the parkour. It is easily lootable.

Fourth Room (Emerald Room) (Difficulty: 7/10)

  • Jump over the pressure plate.
    • If you step on it, a zombie pigman will spawn.
    • Refill your water, if you need to.
    • Parkour up the emerald block parkour. Take your time, as the last few jumps are tricky! There are a few where you should sneak to the edge of a block, and sprint jump right away. Try to land in the water if you fail.

Button Section (Difficulty: 6/10)

  • At the top of the emerald parkour, there is a pressure plate on top of a dispenser which you have to jump over. Press the button in front of the blocked pressure plate to open it up.
    • If you step on it, a zombie pigman will spawn.
    • Avoiding it is very difficult, but you could jump onto the very edge of the dispenser (not on the pressure plate) and jump and sprint at the same time into the Loot Room.
    • Alternatively, you can jump on the pressure plate and run up to the button that'll teleport you to the loot room. DO NOT splash yourself, as the explosion could kill you. A snowball is extremely useful here.
  • After pressing the button inside the room with the pressure plate you'll be teleported to the loot room. Grab the legendary and loot the chests. Press the button when you're done.
  • Congratulations!

Travel Advisory/Warnings

  • This dungeon is NOT instanced.
  • Feather Falling boots are extremely helpful in this dungeon. Falls from the top part of the emerald parkour can kill a player at full health without Feather Falling boots. They are also very helpful in the Second Room, the glowstone one.
  • If you begin to bleed from the lava at the entrance, it is advised not to use a bandage until you are done with the First Room. If you touch the lava there, you can start bleeding again, which would waste medical supplies.
  • It is useful to have some snowballs to distract pigmen.
  • It is recommended not to bring more than two people because of the difficult pressure plate jumps.
