Overview of Fort Kharj, with the canyon to the north

Fort Kharj is a ruined fort located northwest of Al Hasa, and includes a large skeleton and a substantial underground area. There are a few mil_rare chests above ground inside the fort, but the surface has little to offer compared to the underground. To enter the underground portion of Fort Kharj, players must go to the mouth of the skeleton, and stand on the two pressure plates. This requires 2 players, or skilled timing with one player and another zombie. Alternatively, a player could use a button in the northeast iron door to access the lower areas.

There are mil_epics in the underground area, as well as high tier potion chests that can be accessed if a button is placed in the crypt. Iron armor can be looted from the epics, while high tier potions and even glowstone can be looted from the sacrificial room. Be aware, as there are several zombies spawners in the underground area.

The location is close to Al Hasa, and sometimes fights might spill over to Fort Kharj. Consequently, players should always be careful for seasoned bandit teams that might show up here, as they will likely have iron armor and diamond swords. Giant's Camp is to the southwest for players who wish to fight a giant after looting the chests here.

This area is commonly confused with Camp Kharj, which holds similar loot and is to the south.

Travel Advisory/Warnings

  • There are limited water refills in the cauldrons in the bar.
  • One of the mil_rare chests is located under the fort debris right next to the dining room.
  • The mil_epic on the surface can be reached by going to the top of the northeastern tower through the dragon's skeleton.
  • The crafting table is located in the southeast tower, near the food chest. There is also one in the bar itself.
  • A button is required to enter the unholy sacrificial room. The entrance to the crypt where it's located is in the tavern.
  • To leave the underground, use the northwest staircase near the tavern to exit with an iron door.
  • There is a low zombie spawn rate in the sacrificial room, but a rather high spawn rate in the halls under the bar and sacrificial room. While rare, zombie pigmen might spawn (there are no zombie pigmen spawners though).
  • Players with a button and wanting to avoid pvp at Al Hasa can use the button for potions. The risk of bandits here is much lower, and the potion chests are a higher tier than Al Hasa's tower potion chests.

Trivia

  • The old version was submitted by Gremzero on Reddit. [1]. A rebuild was made and it was added around 2016-2017 by Mosh_Von_Void. The builder's name is in the bar. A link to the build submission thread can be found here.
  • There are various levers that light redstone lamps inside the bar.
