* Getting here and looting the islands will require lots of food, as it is often required to sprint-jump.
* The only island without zombie spawners is Island 4, which also has a water refill.  This is the safest island, and a good spot to wait out the Night.
+
* A desperate player in need of food can frequently find carrots in the spire chests.
* Giants spawn on Island 3.  Note that the giant will follow you up the paths, so be very careful to not draw its attention unless you want to fight it.
+
* Be careful when ascending the waterfall to the spire island, as one is vulnerable to falling zombies and players with bows.
* Be careful when ascending the waterfall to Island 8, players and pigmen can ambush you and knock you down.
+
* Snowballs are important to bring here as to avoid getting killed by mobs while looting chests.
* If you need to log out for a while, make absolutely sure you log out on a full solid block. If you leave while standing on a slab or stair, you could die when you log back in.
+
* Zombie spawners are (almost) always marked by skeleton skulls. The exceptions are a couple of spawners that are built into the spire and mini-spires.
* Getting here will require lots of food, as it is located very far north amidst an area of uneven terrain.
+
* Zombie pigman spawners are always marked by wither skeleton skulls. Immediately run past these if they're near.
* All of the bridges have parkour. Do not come here if you aren't good at it.
+
* The Giant will spawn on the large northwest island, where paths A and B split.
* Most islands spawn lots of zombies. You have the best chance of survival, if you run past all islands, ignoring zombies and quickly breaking loot chests.
+
* With a group of more than five people, it is recommended to trap the Giant in a cobweb such that everyone has a chance to run past it.
* The Floating Islands are beatable in leather armor, but only if you can think sharp and stay frosty. Remember, the strategy here is to avoid mobs, not to fight them.
+
* Due to the Giant’s high-knockback attacks, it is extremely dangerous to fight it here. Only do so if seeking a challenge.
* Island 8 has the spire chests, there are 4 of them surrounding the Lore Block. The zombie pigman spawners were replaced by zombie spawners in the chest area, so although it is not as dangerous as it used to be, getting in and out of the spire bowl as fast as possible is highly suggested.
+
** If wanting to fight the Giant, the strategy used in [https://www.twitch.tv/videos/727071801 this video] may be of use. Be sure to avoid jumping as the stomp attack hits as to not fall into the void.
* Island 8 has one zombie pigman spawner when coming up the waterfall, so get out of that area as fast as you can.
+
* Grappling can be used to skip parts of the intended path.
* Having a good keyboard is recommended, as if you wobble jump or fail to sprint jump, then death is almost certain.
+
* Having a good keyboard is recommended as failing a jump here is deadly.
* If you have a grapple, you can grapple up to the top of the big tree on Island 8, however 5 zombie pigman spawners await you.

* The parkour itself is not really hard, just dangerous and long.

* The amount of zombie pigman spawners has been greatly reduced, so most of the islands are easily lootable.

* Most of the potion chests are located in trees which require a couple of jumps to reach. The only exception is the potion chest on Island 1, which is located in the dried-up fountain.

* Zombies can very easily pull or push you into the void near island edges and ESPECIALLY on bridges.

* There are 2 paths to get from Island 5 to Island 7. Going left on the pathway leads to Side Islands 6 and 7, while going right leads to Island 6. It is not recommended to go through the Side Islands route as the parkour is more risky.

Floating Islands as seen from the northeast

The Floating Islands (Often abbreviated as FI) are located extremely far north to the east of Mining Town. They hover over a large void in the terrain, surrounded by spiky, impassable rocky mountains. Reaching the top means completing a lot of parkour, which is fatal if failed due to the void. There is an abundance of zombie and zombie pigman spawners, as well as a Giant placed directly in the player's path. The largest structure on the islands is the ruined top of the Earth Spire, which contains 4 special spire chests.

Lore

  • There is a Lore Block on the top island on the way to the large tree.

Lore Block

Held in permanent stasis at the top of this spire rests the Goddess of Earth, Therum.

Therum is said to have molded us from the Earth, drawing and shaping us from the clay. The very land we worked, lived and died on was gifted to us by Therum. Our absolute trust was given to her and for a time our devotion was rewarded by an age of prosperity unlike any before.

The floating islands around you were once a sacred grove - a location of immense beauty and respect. When Therum was sealed inside the spire's orb the very earth around this grove was wrenched into the sky.

Isolated from her element, the spire of Therum, what is left, slowly wavers through the air, never again being allowed to touch the ground.
