Devil's Castle is a rundown castle located in the snow region Northwest of Whitehaven. Travel Advisory/Warnings

  • You can get a single water refill from the cauldron inside the dungeon. You have to use a button on the iron door that has a chiseled stone brick on top of it to get to it.
  • There's no loot in the outer walls. Don't waste your time walking through them. Instead, go straight for the corner towers.
  • You can easily fall into the lava inside the blacksmith. Be careful.
  • The brewing stand is located inside the dungeon, along with the mil chest.
  • There are rarely players here, so it is a great place to camp for chain, the occasional iron armor, and good weapons.
  • There will most likely be several zombies waiting for you at the gates, but once cleared out this can be a good fortification for a group.
  • The High zombie spawn rate is distributed over the entire location, so you will probably be encountering solo zombies which do not pose too much of a threat.
  • The closest water source is a few 100 blocks away so be sure to pay attention to your water levels.

Trivia

  • There's a group of signs inside the dungeon with the room chest. The name of the researcher mentioned in them, Edwin Jenner, is a reference to Edward Jenner, the scientist who created the world's first vaccine.
  • This location's name is a reference to the Devil's Castle on the Chernarus map in the game DayZ, the post-zombie-apocalypse game that MineZ is based upon.
  • The old version was a submission created by yourpengu, tannertasman, mizone10 & xxspicychickenxx, uploaded onto the MineZ Reddit.
  • For Halloween 2017, this location was rebuilt, changing the layout and loot almost completely. After Halloween was over, the build was modified and kept as a new build for Devil's Castle. It was back for Halloween 2018.
    • The castle has a more Nether fort style to it, along with the typical halloween decoration: jack-o-lantern dummies, giant mushrooms, and more lava.
    • The builders who rebuilt Heartless Mansion (ArcadeLegend, 66tee and PIneFrost64) also rebuilt this location.
