Clarce is a midlands town located just south of the Zombie Pigman border. The town is composed of a frozen lake, an underground mine, a church, a graveyard, and various houses. It provides a plentiful variety of supplies including food chests, potions chests, civilian chests, and military chests. If you want a higher tier of military equipment, you can go to Fort Z. If you have a grapple, the Cave System can be accessed from here as well.

Clarce is generally regarded as one of the best food and civilian chests on the map. There are a plethra of high tier food chests, as well as a good amount of middle and high tier civilian gear. There is water here, as well as two crafting tables. Another aspect that makes Clarce to alluring to restock on gear is the general obscurity of the town. Bandits are very rarely found here, and players that are here can be friendly. The town is also visited occasionaly by the Imperial Federation, a clan based on the midlands. However, they will generally not attack players who are friendly.

Clarce and Paluster have very similar loot, but Clarce is statistically much better, with two potion chests and more civilian chests, as well as being easier to loot. In the past, Clarce was the site of many ingame events, for example Christmas 2020, where the entrance to Santa's Workshop was located here, as well as the mini dungeon Clarce Mines.

Overall, this town is a great place for travelers to stock up on food and civilian gear before heading north. It's also a great town to restock after completing the dungeon Paluster Shrine.

Travel Advisory/Warnings

  • The crafting table is located in the easternmost house, behind a door underneath the staircase.
    • There is also one in the mineshaft.
  • A cooking fire can be found in the Mines, relatively close to the entrance.
  • To access Ivan's Basement, press the button on the grave belonging to M 0 R T 1 S in the graveyard.
  • To access the Cave System, jump into the water in the mines and swim downward. Continue south and you will see a section of the caves up on a ledge, just out of reach. You will have to use a grapple or some other item to access the ledge.
    • It is possible to build a bridge across the gap with just two cakes and one cobweb.
  • This is a good location to get food and basic supplies, but Frostbain has better potions.
  • This is a great location to stock up on supplies for the four mid-map Elite Dungeons, as it has good loot variety and it's close to all of them.
  • Shivers spawn here, and the terrain makes them especially annoying to fight. The safest place to attack them from is the belfry of the church.
    • Wolves may spawn here as well - usually where you least expect them. Be careful when turning corners.
  • Groups of bandits often come here from Paluster to gather potions, or on their way to Al Hasa from certain western gearing routes.

Trivia

  • There's an angel-like statue in the graveyard, and in front of the lake, there's a devil-like one.
  • Most of the houses and graves have player signs. Almost all of these players are or once were part of the MineZ Wiki Team, the group of individuals responsible for maintaining the wiki you're reading right now. :)
  • This location was rebuilt by IvanDoomy for the Origins update in May of 2020.
  • This location was the centerpiece of the Advent Calendar Quest for Wonderland 2020. A snowman by the Mineshaft requests that you bring him supplies to build another snowman.
    • To acquire coal for the snowman's eyes, the Tier 2 dungeon Clarce Coal Mines was added to the Mineshaft. It has since been removed.
    • Late into the Wonderland Update, the Christmas Dungeon Santa's Sweatshop could also be accessed from the bottom of the Clarce Mines. It has also been removed, but it may return.
  • One of the 20 Easter Eggs for the Valarum Egg Hunt was placed in the East Mineshaft here.
  • The Imperial Federation, a clan based in the midlands, visits this town often on its patrols.
