Bleeding

Bleeding can occur when you take damage from any source (Falling damage, lava, fire, zombies, players, etc.). The chat will inform the player that he/she is bleeding with a message when the player starts to bleed, with a noticeable particle effect, and on every point of damage the player receives from the effect.

While bleeding, you take one heart (Full heart.png) of damage and get Slowness II for 3 seconds every 30-40 seconds until the bleeding is stopped. You'll also leave constant redstone particle effects until you bandage yourself. This effect can also be seen by other players. You cannot actually die from bleeding, although it will bring you down to half a heart (Half heart.png) .

Another player can bandage you with a bandage (Paper.png) and shears (Shears.png) to stop bleeding as well. Bandages can also be used when you are not bleeding, healing you for one heart.

Infection

Upon hit from a zombie, zombie pigman or an infected player the player has a 2.5% chance of contracting the Infection. The player also has a 5% chance of becoming infected upon ingestion of rotten flesh. Infection causes half a heart (Half heart.png) of damage every 10-20 seconds and causes Nausea for a few seconds each time, making movement harder. You'll also have purple potion particles as long as you're infected.

Infection can be cured in two different ways. The first is by drinking milk (Milk.png). The second is by using a bandage (Paper.png) applying a antibiotics (Lime dye.png) and shears (Shears.png). Players cannot administer antibiotics to themselves, only to each other.

If left uncured, infection will continue to cause damage, but it will not be fatal. The lowest infection can bring one to is half a heart, much like poison would in Vanilla Minecraft. However, if you are left at half a heart while infected and logout, you will die upon rejoining again.
