Anvalia, seen from the entrance

Anvalia is a collection of pods hanging on the underside of a cliff. The entrance to Anvalia is located on the cliff-side that the city resides on. They are connected to each other by treacherous bridges. Zombie encounters on the thin bridges connecting the pods can be especially dangerous. Caution should be taken to carefully position oneself to avoid being hit back off of the bridge by a zombie.

The loot of the town is mostly civilian, with a mix of food and tool chests, with a bit of military in the center. The dungeon Anvalia Mines is located here.

Travel Advisory/Warnings

  • There are crafting tables and brewing stands located in the rooms in the entry staircase.
  • There are many holes in the overhanging bridges, making death by falling or getting pushed off by a zombie a definite possibility.
  • Sneaking is advised when on the paths, as it attracts fewer zombies and reduces the risk of accidental falling.
  • If bandits are encountered here, it is best to stay off the walkways as much as possible, as they may have a bow. With a bow, the player can shoot the bandits if they're on the walkways.
  • By taking a path from the mine to the major pod and all the pods in between, the chests have time to respawn, making this place a secluded, highly sustainable camp for new players.
  • It is recommended when spawning east of Carmi to get away from the coast and go from Grandfather's Curse, then Mount Longton, and last camp at Anvalia to get enough food to go more Northwards.
  • Traveling here from Afaya can be quite an effective strategy if planning to get mid-tier loot early on.
  • Shooting zombies off the bridges is much safer than hitting them with a sword.

Trivia

  • There used to be a hidden room in the mine filled with giant mushrooms. This was the location the mine lead to before the dungeon was added.
  • For Halloween 2017, Anvalia received a reskin. It didn't change the location and/or loot found here. The dungeon wasn't changed, though, and it came back for Halloween 2018, too.
  • The original build was submitted by Powercell103 (Link).
