Altin is located in the Cave System. You can get here through the cave near the stairs at Intersection. This town was added at the beginning of October 2017. The loot is well-rounded, except for the absence of civilian chests; make sure you have enough bandages and milk to survive. You can always go to Ephirion to stock up again.

Travel Advisory/Warnings

  • DO NOT JUMP INTO THE LAKE. The lake is 2 water blocks deep and after that, it's just void. If you fall into the void you'll die instantly. Use the ladders by the lake to get down safely into the water and avoid having any zombies nearby when going in.
  • There's a cake located in The Black Swan Inn.
  • The brewing stands are located in The Flying Drunkard.
  • There's a closet in the house next to Therum's Shrine that has several red mushrooms, for any avid red mushroom collectors.
  • You are unlikely to encounter players in this location. Players prefer locations like Sirus, Septus, Tahosa, or Riel due to their high tier military loot and population.
  • The likelihood of zombies spawning here is low, but do keep a lookout for wolf packs, since the cave system is located in the snow biome and they spawn frequently in towns.
  • The well-rounded military and tool loot makes this a fantastic place to camp without being bothered by other players.
  • Because of the graveyard, the presence of 3 civ_rare chests, and the overall lack of players, this make Altin one of the best places on the map to camp for buttons.

Trivia

  • The fact that falling into the lake kills you has to do with most of the water being frozen or really cold. Most of the water springs here have ice and mycelium surrounding them.
  • This was a location added on October 1st, 2017. The light blue stained glass "crystals" that cover some walls and ceilings of the cave were originally orange.
  • Inside one of the rooms of the inn there's a suit (banner) hanging on the wall.
  • There's a list of shipments in the mineshaft. The places listed are Eillom, Mining Town, Al Hasa, Frostine Valley Acres, Whitehaven and Yongton Abbey.
    • The time for the Al Hasa Shipments is a reference to the time of Suicide Saturday, a time during the weekend when clans get together to PVP each other.
  • The word Altin is a reference to a village of the same name found in the game Golden Sun.
  • Some graves are named after the builders of this location (Avviore, Derussiander, FlyingSquid, Valkyrion, 66tee, PineFrost64)
    • One grave was named "Here Lies NOT Jacsebalon" due to the sheer number of graves on the map with his name on them; For example, an old build of Arbreton had four of them.

Lore

  • There's a Lore Book related to Therum's Shrine here. It is located in the well.

Letters - Armoni

Mother,
We hope your travels to the Goddess' shrine are well. It must be different to travel so far away from home, I don't know how you do it! In turn though, we miss you greatly. It's not home without you.
-Blessings,
Armoni
