Text Walkthrough

Entrance / First Tunnel Segment (Difficulty: 2/10)

  • Enter the dungeon and make your way through the mineshaft tunnels
  • Eventually the tunnel is divided by a large gap above water. Jump across to proceed
    • Be careful as there are vines that can snag your jump! Sugar can be used to make this jump easier
  • Take a left at the next intersection to continue

Second Tunnel Segment (Difficulty: 3/10)

  • Wooden pressure plates on the left and right trigger pistons to push in the walls, knocking you into lava below
  • Run and jump straight through the middle of this tunnel and between cobwebs while avoiding the wooden pressure plates
    • You can better align your jump by shooting arrows or dropping items on the two nearest pressure plates to cause the pistons to trigger

Third Tunnel Segment (Difficulty: 4/10)

  • This hallway is lined with a diagonal pattern of stone pressure plates
    • These plates trigger dispensers to launch splash potions of weakness, slowness, or instant damage
  • Carefully jump diagonally across the plates to reach the end of the hallway
    • The final plate beneath the mineshaft support inflicts weakness but must be pressed to continue

Fourth Tunnel Segment (Difficulty: 4/10)

  • The stone pressure plate beneath the mineshaft support inflicts slowness and weakness
  • This hallway is lined with dispensers that shoot fire charges
    • These are activated by tripwires found in line with their respective dispensers
  • Drop an item onto a tripwire and wait for its corresponding dispensers to fire before crossing
    • Repeat this for each tripwire in the hallway to continue

Final Tunnel Segment and Loot Room (Difficulty: 3/10)

  • Don't push the stone button in front of you! This button spawns a Zombie Pigman and serves no other purpose
  • The emerald-lined corridor to the left leads to the Loot Room
    • Avoid the stone pressure plates between the mineshaft supports and rails on your left and right - these deal up to six hearts of instant damage!
    • A Zombie spawner in a Vanilla Minecraft dungeon-style room sits central to the loot chests. The Helmet of Vision rests on top of the spawner, don't forget to grab it before you head back!

Exit (Difficulty: 3/10)

  • Walk through the diamond-lined corridor and fall through a cobweb to return you to the second tunnel segment
  • Jump back across the first gap to walk back to the entrance of the dungeon and leave
  • Congratulations, you just beat Abandoned Mineshaft!

Travel Advisory/Warnings

  • Activating the redstone ore after the second segment by standing on it will splash you with instant damage
  • People may attempt this dungeon after coming from Sirus as it doesn't require much gear to complete
