There are many different unique Monsters in When in Rogue, ranging from an Embered Corpse to a Wheezing Witch. These Monsters create a different challenge between each level as they become stronger and tougher to beat.
Stronghold is the first dungeon in this game.
Attacks deal physical damage. They will target the player from long range. When hit, will call other zombies to help them. Further along the dungeon, they gain tougher armour and hit much harder. Upgrading the chestplate will help against them.
Attacks deal ranged damage. They will target a player from a medium range and are very dangerous. Further along the dungeon, they gain tougher armour and hit much harder. Upgrading the leggings will help against them.
Attacks deal physical damage. They will target a player from close range. Once they lock on, they will follow the target until they die or detonate, dealing a ton of damage. Warrior's Shield of Light is extremely useful in negating most damage. When killed, they will detonate after a short time. Their detonation will harm other monsters around it. They never get any tougher. Upgrading the chestplate will help against them.
Attacks deal physical damage. These slimes spawn from mimic chests. They will jump around and target players close-by. When hit, they will fly around a room, hitting whoever it touches. When killed, will drop the contents of the chest. Upgrading the chestplate will help against them.
Attacks deal magical damage. They will target a player from range using a magic circle. Particles will spawn central to the circle and go outwards. Once they hit the perimeter of the circle, it will magically damage the player. Upgrading the helmet will help against them.
Attacks deal physical damage. They will target a player from close range. After a short time, they will attempt to leap and latch onto the player's face and will continuously deal damage for some time or until killed. Upgrading the chestplate will help against them.
Attacks deal physical damage. They will target a player from long range. They are similar to the Zombie, but will set the player on fire instead of deal direct damage. Upgrading the chestplate will help against them.
Attacks deal physical damage. They will target a player from medium range. Their hitbox is small and they attack fast. When they go to strike, they will begin emitting particles, slowly lift upwards and then fly towards you while screeching. Upgrading the chestplate will help against them.
Mini Bosses are found in most dead-end corridors and will sometimes spawn alone or with a wave of mobs. In Locked Door levels, they can protect a key.
Attacks deal physical damage. The Corrupter is a slow, heavily armoured zombie. When moving close to the Corrupter, the player is slowed down severely, making them an easy target. Upgrading the bow will help against them. Spawns in Stronghold.
The Skeleton King
Attacks deal physical damage. The Skeleton King is a slow, heavily armoured skeleton. When the Skeleton King is hit by a player, no damage is dealt to the mini boss. Instead, 3 glowing bones are thrown out. If left, the bones will transform into 3 skeletons that, when killed, will deal damage to the Skeleton King. If the bones are trampled on, they will not spawn a skeleton and simply damage the mini boss. Spawns in Stronghold.
Bosses are found in the 5th, 10th, 15th and 20th levels of each dungeon. They pose a great threat to the player and must be dealt with to advance.
Attacks deal physical and magical damage. The Slime is a massive slime that dishes out punishing attacks to a player. When hit, The Slime will launch itself into the air and slam into the ground, dealing physical damage and knocking back players while also spawning emerald blocks that spawn Slimey Slimes. They will also then spawn giant magic circles, similar to the Witch ones, that deal magical damage. At 50% health, will break the bridges to it. Only appears on level 5. Upgrading all items will help against it.
