Travel Advisory/Warnings

  • Romero is right above this, so you can go to a crafting table there.
  • While in the sewers, you may attract a group of zombies above in Romero to follow you just by walking around.
  • When exiting the sewers up to Romero, it may be useful to use a snowball to prevent a gathered mob of zombies from attacking you.
  • The main exit from the sewers takes you to the eastern coast. You can enter from here by swimming under the iron bar.

Trivia

  • Several good military chests used to be located in the sewers, all of which required a button to access:
    • Back when the sewers were only built from pure stone bricks, there used to be 2 secret rooms which were marked with a moss stone brick and a cracked stone brick. Placing a button used to give you access to a mil_rare chest per room. These rooms were removed around the time the sewers were updated to have different types of stone brick throughout.
    • There was once a chiseled stone brick located at the intersection near the outflow, where placing a button would open a room in the alcove to the left, where you would find a mil_rare chest. A pressure plate inside would be used to exit.
    • The barred room in the upper sewers used to require a button to access, and held a mil_rare chest. At first you needed another button to get out of the room as well, but a pressure plate was later added inside so that only 1 button was required to loot and get out.

Lore

  • There's a Lore Block here, located inside the upper sewers at (1794, 73, 418):

Lore Block

History of Romero, Section 2 : Initial infections and subsequent deaths were thought to be little more than a common cold, the bodies being moved to the sewer as no better method for disposal existed.

When the dead rose though, this storage in the sewer backfired. Too many laid sick and dying above ground to mount any resistance and a decision to abandon the city was made.
