Romero is a popular southern landmark and possibly the largest town in MineZ. Newly-spawned players often head here first because of its large quantity of loot chests and availability of health potions. Many bandits can also be found here to make prey of the newly-spawned players. The church containing health potions is always a dangerous area as the chests are most coveted there. The Night's Watch HQ is beside the church, another important landmark, as it is a safe haven from zombies. To the east of Romero you can find the town of Carmi, a less crowded place, by crossing the Continental Bridge. To the north of Romero is Sundawn Observatory, a great place to find good military gear.

Travel Advisory/Warnings
- There are 3 wheat, 2 melons and 1 beetroot in the farmhouse located outside of the town.
- Popular bandit hangout. Avoid Romero Sewers, if other players are down there, they are most likely bandits.
- Players spawn on the coastline and enter from the road or the Continental Bridge. Occasionally bandits enter from the north.
- Survivors frequently visit this town and the health potion chests in the church will often be already looted.
- If the town is covered with zombies, it is a good idea to go into the Romero Sewers, as zombies rarely spawn there and several food chests can be found.
- There is a large hole in the Northwest corner of the walls surrounding the city. Useful for heading north or to St. Roseluck Island.
- If you are heading towards Romero while playing on a public server, you should make sure you have the gear and proper supplies to withstand the large amount of zombies and other players lurking here.
- A lot of newly spawned players swarm here and attract hordes of zombies. Don't get too focused on fighting zombies however, as many players will attack you while you're weakened and defending yourself against a horde.
- Having another player open the sewer exit on the East side allows for an easy escape from Bandits unless they have a button.
- If you do in fact see a bandit, hide behind one of the many buildings and make your way out. You are in luck if other players are around; the bandits will likely go after them. Stay a good distance out of their way and you'll probably have a good chance of making it out alive.
- The Night's Watch HQ is next to the church and is operated by pressure pads. Perfect place to hide from zombies and overzealous bandits. If you are traveling with a friend, go to the basement and stand on the pressure plates. This opens you to a safe room with 2 cakes and a water fountain. Be careful, however, because bandits can easily corner you inside, although bandits have the habit of camping in there too.
- The sewers lead to an exit at sea level on Romero's east side. This can be utilized as a alternative entrance to the town.
- You will most likely encounter a player here within a few minutes of staying due to it being a popular spawn town.
Trivia
- The name of the town is probably a reference to George A. Romero, who directed the film 'Night of the Living Dead'.
- Three times, this place has transformed into a location called Spooky Romero on October with different features and extra chests and may do so again.
Lore
- There's a Lore Block here, inside the church:
Lore Block
Romero was the largest coastal town. It's large stone walls made it a superb haven for refugees during the original outbreak. As more people flooded the city, the possibility of infection grew. Isolated cases arose, but were swiftly dealt with. Unfortunately the bodies were stored underground, and the virus spread to the water system. |
