There are three types of weapons at your disposal in MTA. Acquiring them and choosing them for different circumstances is vital to surviving.

Note: Weapon damage listed was testet by shooting an unarmored level 1 player by an level 1 player in the body and in the head. Tweaks to weapon values are not clearly released by the devs, requiring players to voluntarily test and compile information in their own time and as well as they can manage. Current testing procedure is done either by shooting a vehicle and observing the damage dealt, divided by two, or by shooting an unarmored player in the head, limbs, and body.

Fire damage:

  • Touch Fire: 1hp damage
  • Burn : 6hp damage
  • Standing in a fire: 8hp damage

Pending update on which guns can be wielded in a player's second hand, weapon handling, and reload times.

Guns

Guns are the primary weapons in MTA! Below you will find a table with more information about each gun. The damage displayed is the maximum damage done when you are not wearing any armor. If you are not a high enough level to use a gun, it will have a higher chance to jam and force you to reload. A jammed gun requires that you rapidly click to unjam it followed by having to reload regardless of how much ammo you had left.

Gun Attachements

Gun attachments can be bought, and added to weapons through anvils, in order to increase their capabilities. For convenience, attachments are able to be added to weapons in stacks so you don't have to apply them individually. They are "Bound" items so they are destroyed upon death.

Attachment Effect Max Upgrade Number Price Shooting Level Req.
Reload Speed Increase plus/minus 0.1x Reload Time +2% higher Jam Chance 3 $700 Level 10
Clip Size Increases clip size by +1x the weapon's original clip +15%slower reload speed 2 $600 Level 5
Bullet Speed Increase Increases bullet speed by +0.3x +2% slower rate of fire 10 $400 Level 15
Scope Adds weapon zoom by left-clicking 1 $1,25K Level 35
Fire Rate Increase minus 0.1x to weapon firing interval -4% damage 5 $1.5K Level 45

Ammunition

The last thing you want to hear when shooting an opponent is the click of an empty chamber. Keep yourself stocked with ammo and you'll be able to do more than just whack someone with an empty gun.

Grenades

Damage values are unarmored and right at the point of the explosion. Explosion radius values are the maximum range to be effected by the explosion at all. Diminishing damage from being further from the explosion isn't factored.

Grenade Fuse Time Damage Explosion Radius Price Level Req.
FlashBang 0:02 None, Blindness 0:05 6 blocks Buy: $50

Sell: $7.50

Level 5
Grenade 0:05 6 6 blocks Buy: $83

Sell: $12.45

Level 25
Molotov 0:02 Explosion: 3

Fire: Depends on exposure.

6 blocks Buy: $117

Sell: $17.55

Level 35

Molotovs produce a single block of fire where they explode. However, if they explode on a slab then there is no fire. This is also how the explosion damage was obtained without the fire and being on fire interfering with the value.

Melee Weapons

The damage value differences between melee weapons, if there are any, are so negligible that the random damage variables and criticals make a greater difference. Still, if you want to hit someone, you may as well hit them with a little style, possibly with an Irish Whiskey from a bartender ($500 Strength Potion 3:00).
